Mo. Car Dealer Offers Free AK-47 With Truck

Max Motors Has Previously Offered Free Handguns With New Cars

BUTLER, Mo. -- Buy a truck and get a free AK-47 gun.

Max Motors in Butler, Mo.

That's the deal a Missouri truck dealer is offering new customers who buy a pickup truck in August.Mark Muller, owner of Max Motors in Butler, said he knows people will be bothered by the promotion.But not to worry, Muller is not handing out free guns."We're just not going to give people an AK-47 gun. Felons buy cars, too. What we are going to do is we're going to give them a voucher where they can go to their local gun dealer, or we have local gun dealers we would strongly recommend where they can buy a gun and go through the proper background checks so the guns wind up in the right hands," Muller told KMBC.

The AK-47 is an upgrade on a previous promotion in which Muller gave away vouchers for the price of a Caltec pistol."Last year we gave away a free handgun with the purchase of any vehicle, and it went over very well. It spiked our web traffic and we sold, we estimate, 35 extra cars during the promotion than we normally would have, and this year we're trying to sell an extra 100 cars more than we normally would," Muller said.The retail value of an AK-47 is $450 but Muller said customers can spend their voucher on the gun of their choice.

Thoughts:
Although many people would not agree, and I do not specifically agree with what this dealership did, the right to carry a gun is protected by the 2nd amendment, although I see no reason for anyone to carry an automatic weapon for protection. The ability to buy a gun is limited to people who qualify, its easier to buy a truck then it is to buy a gun. This dealership took it on themselves to off a automatic weapon to someone just because they bought a truck and these people may not have qualified to get a gun.

Thoughts:
This video shows that gun control is still an issue today. Not everyone can agree on wither people should be allowed to own or carry guns, although it is a right given to us by the 2nd amendment. I do not think Obama's stand on gun control would make him an unfit leader, like the video portrays, but I do not agree that he is against rights given to us by the constitution.
